I developed this over a span of 2 years before building our own version of it. This concept embraces the values that are important to most conservative families and provides the space to nurture those life choices.
It includes ideas from Permaculture and was designed to nurture a productive lifestyle. We grow and process our food and medicine. We build things, craft things and share things. Life is always busy, but it is busy on the things of our own CHOOSING.

The Home is designed for a theoretical site in Terrell, Texas. It is based on a specific geolocated property and the elements of the Home was modeled to optimize that site.
The roof slope, house shape and angles are designed to capture the early morning sun for warm-lit mornings, to fend off strong winds and maintain cool comfortable living spaces even in a power outage in Texas.
Even the trellis spacing is designed to provide full shade in the summer equinox for the site.
Security is also a key factor in the design, particularly for a family with children. Again, this is not your regular custom home.
Doors and approaches to the Home are designed to allow your family to be aware. You have control of what is happening around you. Extra security is provided for sleeping areas. Key parts of the Home can be hardened if so desired, with no redesign to the spaces.

-solar panel install (solar angle considered at roof)
-water harvesting and storage systems
-propane redundancy
-option for supplemental heating via rocket mass heater
-hardening for security
-future home expansion/additional bedrooms
-hardening for storms/tornadoes (with varying levels of safety)
