I developed this over the last 2 years. It embraces the values that are important to most conservative families, and provides the space to nurture those life choices.
It includes concepts from Permaculture and was designed to nurture a productive lifestyle. We grow and process our food and medicine. We build things, craft things and share things. Life is always busy, but it is busy on the things of our own CHOICE

Designed for self-sufficiency, the Home for Homesteading is focused on production. Make deep nourishing food and medicine for your family and community. Build a business. Educate your children. These activities and the values behind them all shaped this Home.
The home flows from inside to outside with this thought.
The Concept Home is designed for a theoretical site in Terrell, Texas. Based on a specific geolocated property, the Concept Home was modeled to optimize that site.
The roof slope, angle and house shape is designed to capture the early morning sun and draw it in for warmlit mornings.
The cool breeze permeates the living spaces. Even the trellis spacing is adjusted for the summer equinox, to provide shade from the southern sun at a time when the House interiors need to start cooling down.
Security is also a key factor in the design, particularly meant for a family with children. You will sleep securely knowing that the Concept Home is designed for your protection.
Doors, approaches to the Home are designed to allow your family to be aware, to have visual control of things going on. Extra security is provided for sleeping areas. Key parts of the Home can be hardened if so desired, with no redesign to the spaces.
There are a myriad of upgrades that enable self-sufficiency that have been designed into this Concept Home. Some of these accommodated upgrades include:
-solar panel install (on roof or on site)
-water harvesting and storage systems
-propane redundancy
-option for supplemental heating via rocket mass heater
-hardening for security
-future home expansion/additional bedrooms
-hardening for storms/tornadoes (with varying levels of safety)

The future will be challenging. This Home is meant to equip resilient families with a home that is better suited for these new challenges. It is not the only solution, but this is one I can contribute to those who are of like mind.
